Hands down the best tortilla I've ever had. I've never had anything like it before. You're a household item for us from now on for sure!
Our Story
From a Home Kitchen to Across Canada
In 2015, Argelio — who immigrated from Monterrey, México at age 25 — couldn't find authentic North Mexican flour tortillas anywhere in Canada. Together with his partner Jackie, a Holistic Nutritionist who grew up on a farm, they started making them at home in Vancouver. What began as a family kitchen project quickly grew into Canada's first and only vegan Mexican food manufacturer.
The name "Lita" comes from their daughter's childhood mispronunciation of abuelita (grandmother) — honouring the family recipes and Mexican heritage that inspire every product. Today, Lita's is woman-owned, family-run, and proudly employs youth and women facing employment barriers at above-minimum wages.
"We recreate authentic Mexican meals, snacks, and desserts into easy-to-prepare 100% plant-based products — using traditional family recipes without lard, preservatives, or dough conditioners." — Argelio & Jackie, FoundersMeet the Family →
