Lita's Continues to Fight Plastic Epidemic

We are happy to announce our newest Plastic Impact Partner, Laut Yang Tenang in Indonesia, where garbage is rescued and processed from dumpsites, rivers, households, and other locations within 50 kilometers of the coastline. This partnership allows for low-value plastic waste to be recovered with every bag of tortillas sold, while also creating positive socio-economic change for marginalized waste worker communities. Annually, we are removing 307,000 single use plastic pouches from nature! To see the change we are making, visit our rePurpose Global Microsite. Read the full press release here.

Our Impact - Certified Plastic Negative Company

We are the World's First Certified Plastic Negative Tortilla Manufacturer. Officially announced in December 2020 after joining forces with rePurpose Global, a social enterprise who enables the removal and recovery of TWICE as much plastic waste from nature as we use in our manufacturing and packaging. We are focused on growth with environmental sustainability, and are putting our efforts into plastic waste diversion. So far, our Impact Partners have helped us remove over 300,000 single use plastic bags from nature annually. This plastic can be used to recreate other items such as plastic pallets. This is just the beginning for us as we continue to innovate delicious plant-based Mexican products without compromise. Learn more about our partnership with rePurpose Global at our rePurpose Global Microsite. Full press release available here.
